Where do consumers get their information about chemistry and the chemical industry? How can consumers make informed decisions on the products they buy? How can the chemical industry improve the way it communicates with consumers? These topical questions will be discussed in HCF’s Chemistry and Consumers panel session on 29th of May.
“It is very difficult for consumers to get a full picture of the impact of living in this chemical world. Data, often contradictory, on the impact of everyday chemicals is hard to interpret and scientific understanding is still being developed. There is a dilemma: convenience and price are consumer priorities, but so is safety,” comments editor Hilfra Tandy, moderator of HCF’s Consumers and Chemistry session.
In addition to panel session, Hill & Knowlton/Commetric will present the results of a resent media survey on consumer concerns. The study provides insight into the media activity on the issues related to the chemical industry in the context of consumers and consumer products. It gives an overview of the link between consumers and industry, the key stakeholders and consumer areas central to the debate.
